# 2.3 Opening the treasure map

Brave Adventurers, several weapons and skills to build up a team and different game modes make Down Below a lot of fun, bringing tangible rewards for all interested. Whether with a beginner team or an

To explore the Abyss, the player must have a team (party) formed with Adventurers, Weapons and Abilities, according to each related class. The overall team rarity will determine the total party AP (*Attack Power*). The higher the AP, the wider the range of levels this party will be able to explore in the Abyss.

{% hint style="info" %}
⮚ **This AP strategy** means that a party with rare elements, for example, will have a higher AP and, therefore, will be able to reach deeper levels of the Abyss than a party made up only of common elements - notice that the more you advance in the Abyss, the higher will be your rewards.
{% endhint %}

Besides, it is possible to explore the Abyss once a day with each team in PVE idle mode, and a single time with one of your teams in PVE adventure mode. Afterwards, the expedition must stop to rest (because it gets **Exhaustion** status), being released after 24 hours.

Once the team succeeds in exploring the Abyss levels (PVE) and/or winning Arena matches (PVP), it will be rewarded with in-game coins. The value and type of the reward differs depending on the game mode and the team's AP bonuses.

{% hint style="success" %}
Whether with a beginner team or an advanced one, all of the Abyss’ levels hold pleasant and dangerous surprises for the explorers.
{% endhint %}

When playing idle PVE mode, this AP bonus will be defined based on a team total AP. Once a team's AP is defined, this will directly influence in three ways:

* The **level or depth** of the Abyss the team will be allowed to explore;
* The **success chance** that the team will have when exploring each level; and
* The **additional AP bonus**, which will increase the chance of success when exploring some level.

This chance of success is based on total AP of the party and the authorization to explore each level – that is, your party will only be allowed to explore floors that have an equal or less AP than your team's total AP. The cost of this exploration license will also vary according to the party AP, so parties with greater Attack Power will have a higher license cost, but will be able to explore a wider range of floors.

Also consider that, in addition to the base success chance defined by the floor being explored, there is a 2% bonus for every plus 40 AP above the minimum AP value required by the floor. For example: to explore the -1 sublevel, a party must have a minimum of 260 Attack Power (AP). In this case, the chance of success will be 85% when exploring the first sublevel. For a party with an AP equal to 300, this chance increases to 87%, as exemplified in Table 3.

**Table 3 – Chance of success on idle PVE according to AP and Abyss Level**

*\*Sublevels (floors) of the Abyss.*

*\*\* Attack Power (AP) rising from 40 to 40 between 260 and 1640.*

*N/A = Unauthorized AP in the level.*

{% hint style="info" %}
**An expedition** will have a greater or lesser chance of success depending on the Attack Power of its characters and the quality of the equipment used (which is given by the item's rarity level), and also according to the depth of the Abyss that is being explored – surface levels are easier than lower ones, however **deeper levels guarantee greater rewards**.
{% endhint %}

See the values described in Table 4 for the reward association with each successfully explored level of the Abyss.

**Table 4 - Rewards associated with each Abyss level**

***\*** Despite the existence of many levels below 27, there is no authorization for currently exploration in these areas.*

***\*\*** Elven Silver has the same value as $ABYSS (1:1); however, converting ES to $ABYSS with the Abyss Smuggler will include a fee to complete the transaction.*

Therefore, consider the total AP sum of your party items to assess the best strategy for exploring the Abyss. For example, imagine a party made up of four common Adventurers, each equipped with a Weapon and Ability of equally common rarity. In this case, the total AP of the team will be calculated by adding the AP of Adventurers (4 x 40 = 160) plus AP of weapons (4 x 20 = 80) and Equipped Skills (4 x 5 = 20), which results in a total of 260 attack strength.

Go ahead and check out **another costs** involved into bringing your expedition **Down Below**.
